Client: Serebra Learning Corporation

Project: Serebra – a long-term client – created a new online outsourcing platform – Serebra Connect – to tie in with their e-learning business and help provide work opportunities to people around the world. They required copy and content.

Role: I work as an integral part of the site's development team on a retainer contract to provide ongoing writing services, including the Serebra Connect website marketing messages, flash demos, transactional and promotional emails, static pages, FAQ copy, user guides, promotional landing pages, press releases and the Serebra Annual Report.

Client: Kor Hockey (through BBP)

Project: Kor Hockey wanted to update their website to promote their new skate, the Kor Shift 2.

Role: I worked closely with design agency Roxy Design to develop new messages and copy for the new website, a promo mailer, a poster and a brochure.

Project: I work on various projects as an external resource for Best Buy's in-house creative department. Projects range from micro-sites and POS to posters and emails to coming up with fresh ideas for a new promotion tagline.

Role: I work with creative director and marketing campaign managers on briefs, often with very tight deadlines.

Client: Nero (through OnTrack Media)

Project: Nero redesigned their website to make it easier for visitors to find specific products for specific uses.

Role: I worked with OnTrack Media in Vancouver and Nero's in-house writer in Germany on grouping products according to uses and devising benefit-driven messaging to sell specific products.

Client: SecurDisc (through OnTrack Media)

Project: OnTrack Media contracted me to write new copy for the SecurDisc product micro-site.

Role: OnTrack completely redesigned the website, and I supplied short copy aimed at business users and general consumers. The copy focuses on the main benefits of SecurDisc in easy-to-follow language, and illustrates them using real-world examples. This project had an extremely tight turnaround.

Project: Personal fitness company Innovative Fitness created a personal fitness website, with strong social networking elements and exclusive video content.

Role: I worked with IF's team and another writer to create content for the site, including product sales copy, product names, destination channel descriptions and static page copy.

Beau Cote

Client: Beau Cote

Project: The client created a website to promote a new residential facility on Bowen Island for women with eating disorders, and required copyediting and content services.

Role: I took raw content from the client and created the new website's site map, with the content organised into categories. Supplied base home page copy and copy-edited the rest of the content from client-supplied material.

Client: Internet Marketing Center

Project: IMC produce Internet Marketing training materials for small businesses and required various writing services for their products and marketing campaigns.

Role: I worked in-house for IMC for two and a half years, becoming their senior writer. Now provides contract writing services when needed, including promotional emails and an ebook on Web 2.0 marketing strategies.

Role: I wrote new content.

Project: BC Gov MEIA needed an internal training website created to act as a resource for employees seeking extra training.

Role: This project involved research, writing, basic website design and formatting in HTML. I produced a 60-page website containing categorised sources of information on specific topics.

Role: I worked with the creative team in project management role, and also wrote product descriptions and catalogue copy.

Project: Cogneto completely redesigned their site and wanted new copy that effectively explained their web ID and authentication solutions to their target market.

Role: I worked closely with Cogneto's internal team to create the messages for their range of products and write new content for the entire website. Met an extremely tight deadline.

Project: Independent financial advisor needed marketing materials, including a website.

Role: I worked with the client to identify his main messages and communications approach, wrote copy and tagline(s)and sourced a designer to create a logo and website. I also sourced a website hosting solution and uploaded the site for the client. I built marketing elements into the website such as an email newsletter and search engine optimisation, as well as access to a Google Analytics account to monitor traffic.
